The Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum aims to deepen public understanding of Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage and help visitors retain what they learn.

The museum begins with an introductory video and presents several representative examples of Hong Kong’s cultural heritage, including the Cheung Chau Jiao Festival, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance, Hong Kong-style milk tea and Cantonese opera. Related newspaper articles are also displayed throughout the exhibition for visitors to explore.

After discovering these valuable traditions, visitors can take part in an interactive quiz that challenges them to identify images related to dragon dancing, Cantonese opera and other heritage practices. Through exploration and play, the museum invites visitors to discover the distinctive cultural character of Hong Kong.

This XR game celebrates the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture and cultural aesthetics through an adventure in which players take on the role of an assassin infiltrating an imperial palace.

Featuring iconic elements such as ancient bronze artefacts, vermilion architectural structures and traditional rock gardens, the game invites players to discover China’s national treasures as they explore the palace. Across two stages, players must observe their surroundings, distinguish the authentic palace from its deceptive counterpart, and rely on their memory and judgement to complete the mission.

Through immersive gameplay, players develop an appreciation for traditional Chinese culture and aesthetics, bringing cultural heritage to life in a fresh and engaging way while encouraging its creative reinterpretation and revitalisation.

Witness a founding myth of Chinese civilisation. Students are immersed in the legendary story of Yu the Great (大禹), experiencing his thirteen-year quest to tame the floodwaters and bring order to the land. An epic narrative XR module for Chinese history and traditional values education, combining spatial storytelling with curriculum content.

Journey across cultures without a passport. This virtual museum explores how countries around the world celebrate the Lunar New Year — from Hong Kong lion dances to Vietnamese Tết traditions. Students design and populate their own immersive cultural exhibition rooms, developing global awareness and cross-cultural empathy.

Step into Song Dynasty governance. Students explore Wang Anshi's landmark land reform policy — the Square Fields and Equal Tax Law (方田均稅法) — through an immersive XR simulation. They survey virtual farmland, assess land grades, and experience how equitable taxation transformed the rural economy. Brings a pivotal chapter of Chinese history to life beyond the textbook.

Relive one of humanity's greatest inventions. Students step into a virtual printing workshop, arrange movable type characters, and operate the press to produce their own printed pages. This hands-on XR experience brings Chinese history and the story of printing technology to life in a way no textbook can.
